Extracts from The Cochrane Library: Chemotherapy as an adjunct to radiotherapy in locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma
Received 19 April 2007; accepted 24 April 2007.
The “Cochrane Corner” is a quarterly section in the journal that highlights systematic reviews relevant to otolaryngology–head and neck surgery, with invited commentary to highlight implications for clinical decision making. This installment features a Cochrane Review titled “Chemotherapy as an adjunct to radiotherapy in locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma,” which shows a small, but significant, benefit for overall survival and event-free survival when chemotherapy is given concomitantly with radiotherapy.
